I know it a little bit for me to ask because I just bought the PYN 9600GT for the new e-pe.
However, I have not bought the monitor yet. So ny question is can the 9600gt handle the 24" or the 22". Any advices is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys/gals. I mostly play American Army and some RTS/MMORPG games. Thanks for inputs.

Crysis with a 9600gt and a 24 inch monitor? No
Any other game should be ok for now.

I'd get the 22 inch to be safe though.

It can handle resolution. It will also play most of the games fine, except for the newer ones like Crysis and such at native resolution.

It'll do crysis @ low on default reso. It'll probably do 30ish fps @ med if you can play @ that fps. But yeah. I would spring for an 8800gt min for a 24" monitor.

9600GT can handle less demanding games like UT3,CoD4 and Bioshock on high at 1920x1200,but i wouldn't get it with that size monitor, you might want to spend more for say,at least a 8800GTS 512MB,or a 8800GTX/Ultra if you can find one for a good price.

Of course it would handle the monitor, just don't expect to run all the newer games at max settings. In the long run, however, you should chose a video card after the monitor, not the other way around. I don't suppose many people are keen on upgrading their monitor every 6 months. A high quality monitor is long term investment, unlike a video card.

It really depends on how picky you are on graphics settings and graphics performance.

But in general, yes it can handle that resolution for most games except crysis

I don't see much problem with running 9600GT with 24". If Crysis is the ONLY game you'll play, then the answer is obvious, get the fastest thing money can buy. Otherwise, 9600GT handles newest game fine at 1920x1200 on medium or high setting with 2-4x AA/AF turned on.

crysis adn UT3 would benefit from an 8800gt over a 9600gt on a 24"...

other games probably wont care at all, those are really the only 2 games and maybe bioshock that would really get a big boost. ut3 would still be playable anyway just the total FPS wouldnt be as high.

i have a 24" on the 9600gt and the only game i have is c&c3 and i can play with everything maxed out and fsaa maxed out and it seems fine, but c&c 3 isnt exactly a high end game.

Get a 24" monitor - You can play many of your games at native resolution, and can always play at lower resolution for any games it can't handle. IMO, I'd rather play a 1680 x 1050 on my 24" LCD than my 22" LCD. Also the 24" is nice for desktop work. A 22" inch is nice if your budget is limited - but don't get is because your card cannot support it. LCDs last a long time and you probably upgrade your video card before your monitor.

the most expensive video card on the market can only "handle" crysis on a 19inch monitor...

Get a 24inch monitor with your 9600 and enjoy.
