I have an old p3 350 and wondering if a 30GB EIDE ULTRA ATA/100 LP DESKSTAR 7200RPM 75GXP will run on the old cables and ata/33 i belive. I want to know cause i want to get this hard drive now and use it and have it for when i actually upgrade the rest computer late this year

Right. And that is a very nice drive - best one on the market right now.

Edit:
OTOH, while you may need a drive right now, if you are going to upgrade your system later then you might want to wait until then to pick a drive. I say this because the drive is one of the slower components in the system, and waiting to get one will result in your getting a faster drive.

..But adding a fast drive to an aging system can make it feel like a brand new computer. I recently added a new seagate barracuda ATA (7200 rpm) to my old K6-233 system at work. I was amazed how fast this ancient system felt surfing the web and running buisness appl. - In fact it felt nearly as fast my home PIII 733 system running non-cpu intensive tasks.

Well I'll get this drive now and when i'll upgrade later i'll buy a newer faster drive then and use this one as a backup drive. I Want the Space cause i need it. Since the drive at buy.com is about 140 after a coupon i think its a decent drive compared to the other slower ones with same size.

Thakns for the info
