Why don't you ask your dad to borrow it while he drives you there?

WTF is this? Just go there and try to rent it. If you look like a normal person of your age, they'll let you rent it withouth asking questions. If they refuse, lie or something.

Suppose to be 18 years or older to rent / see NC17 films. If you look older than 17 they'll probably rent it to you without asking questions.

As long as you act confident, Blockbuster will rent you anything. My parents specifically put restrictions on our card, and I could still rent whatever I wanted when I was under 17.

From MPAA.org:

NC-17:"No One 17 And Under Admitted."

This rating declares that the Rating Board believes that this is a film that most parents will consider patently too adult for their youngsters under 17. No children will be admitted. NC-17 does not necessarily mean "obscene or pornographic" in the oft-accepted or legal meaning of those words. The Board does not and cannot mark films with those words. These are legal terms and for courts to decide. The reasons for the application of an NC-17 rating can be violence or sex or aberrational behavior or drug abuse or any other elements which, when present, most parents would consider too strong and therefore off-limits for viewing by their children.

Isn't that a bit ambiguous?

Not me when I worked there. I got bitched at by one parent and that was all it took. I always checked after that.

if the person is nice... you will be able to get it :)

A few years ago when i was 15-16... one guy never let me rent R-NC17 stuff... luckily there was another girl that works there on other nights that always let me slide. When the guy was there she would say sorry i can't let you rent this... and she ring it up anyways :)

I'm just guessing here, but I would think you could have your answer in 1 minute if you called a blockbuster. I'm assuming not many folks have memorized the blockbuster catalog or their renting procedures. Tell them you are a concerned parent and want to know their policy on renting unrated movies to children 17 and younger.

You have to be 18 to have a rental account, under 18 you're on somebody else's account.

You would have to have their permission to rent R/unrated material.

I dunno about you but I never wanted to rent that kind of stuff on my parents' account.

Find an older friend who can add you to their account.
