Question Can’t get into BIOS

Kinda weird, PC boots and works fine. If I power up from reboot or cold start and mash the DEL key not only do I not get into BIOS, but I get nothing but a blank screen and it doesn’t boot into windows unless I restart.

I’m trying to replace the M.2 drive with a bigger one and can’t get into BIOS to set it to boot from USB.

Any ideas what the issue could be? I’m going to pull the CMOS battery if I can find it.

What motherboard? Also what windows are you running? If you are running a UEFI windows, which I suspect is the case, you can use shift + restart and go to the advanced menu and then reboot into UEFI firmware settings from there.

MSI Z270 M5 (MS-7A78) Gaming. Win 10 Pro.
Not sure if it’s using UEFI as it’s been up and running for years.
Thanks I’ll try that.

No go on shift + reset
No go on reset BIOS button
No go on using a PS/2 KB
No go on F11, DEL or ESC
No go in no drives

Could it just be the display port? Watching it boot into Windows there’s nothing on the screen till Windows log-in.

EDIT: SOLVED! That was the weirdest issue I’ve ever run into. Switched to an HDMI cable instead of the DP one and I was able to see and get into BIOS!
