Hi!

First installation I'll be doing...

Can someone identify what this wire is for:

From the harness there is a SOLID BLUE wire that I cannot match with anything from the stero wires. This wire "loops" around...

Can someone help me here please!

most likely you just need to wire your harness to your deck harness and then the rest SHOULD be plug and play

if you are missing wires in the harness then you might need to cut

I had to cut only to add my steering wheel controls

Wire the harness coming out of the stereo to the harness adaptor you bought.

This can be done outside the car, and is a 15 minute process.

If the stock radio says JBL on it, you will need to figure out how to bypass the amp, but otherwise just plug in the new one with a wiring harness.

The blue wires are likely for power antenna control and remote amplifier control.

Agreed.

You should buy (or just go to autozone and take a glance) at a haynes manual wiring diagram.

Most likely you'll leave the parking brake wire disconnected but I bet the blue/white should be connected to the blue (although you should check first)

The parking brake wire if for use if your unit can display video. It's there for units that are designed to not play dvd's/videos unless the car is parked so as to not distract you. If your JVC does not play video than you can just skip this wire. I would bundle it up and cover the end with some electrical tape or something and just leave it there disconnected.

Thanks for the help guys...

The green parking wire is not an issue anymore since it is only required for video playback, and although this unit does play video, I won't be using that feature.

The blue wire coming from the stereo itself is for remote control.

This leaves me with only one wire to figure out....The blue wire from the harness which is the only wire that "loops" around, and I just don't know where that goes....

Unless you have a power antenna, you don't need it.
