campus throttle certain ports...

Im pretty sure my campus connection is squeezing bandwith out of certain ports. Most of my FTP and DCC transfer have gone to hell (.05kbps)... is there anyway to bypass this? would going socks5 on a different computer on the same LAN help?
 
popeye885 what shool are u from? cuz my school is doing the same thing too. The only thing is, they are filtering by application rather than port. If your school is filtering by ports, then all you have to do is change the port for your application.
