Camping out for Playstation 3?

I just read online a paper released by BestBuy on how to setup and sell the PS3 and Wii. According the paper sent to Bestbuy 18 stores in the U.S. will have a Midnight launch of PS3; i dont know which 18 stores. The paper also describes on what to do about line and hopefully getting portable bathrooms.

I personally was thinking of camping starting on Wednesday the 15th after work around 7pm. I'm going to ask my job to give me off on thursday and friday. If there are already more than 20 people camping out by Wednesday night i'll try another store. The only thing i'm concerned about it well bathroom breaks.

Also does anyone know which stores will get PS3 in case Bestbuy doesnt work out?
I know Circuit City will
I have a membership to BJ's wholesale club, I wonder if they will get them.
There is a Walmart only about 1000 feet away from Bestbuy so i'm sure they will have a line also.

sometimes the profit alone from reselling it on ebay, can easily cover those hours spent outside.

the bigger problem is that in minnesota its frickin cold out, and i dont own a tent or anything, nor do i have anyone that wants to be outside with me, which could make it a lonely and boring haul.

i dont have a job though, so i could really use the income from selling a ps3

You can't look at it as a $500 console, you really have to look at it as a $1500 console - because that's how much he could make by selling it on eBay.

Camping out to sell it is not a bad idea if you're a college student or unemployed or you have a crappy job where taking two days off work is no big deal.

someone just mentioned the idea of theft and that scares the hell out of me. if i were to buy one only to walk out and have it jacked from me, i would be so pissed off.

its going to be extremely cold up here in MN. I'm not even sure if I can muster 2-3 days out in the cold. the last time i did something like this i was only outside for 5 hours, and my toes almost got frostbite.


last year i waited out in front of best buy during thanksgiving for the $400 laptop. I was number 40 in line originally (showed up around midnight), but about 30 people budged in front of me at around 4:15 am (45 minutes before the store opened) the police didnt arrive til 4:30, so nothing was done.

As a result of greedy people budging, I didnt get a laptop.

I don't think that crap will fly at a video game release. A bunch of nerds with pent up aggression would start kicking ass if anyone tries to cut after they've been waiting for over a day.

I actually have thought about this. People did get follow home last year and got robbed.
I have a friend who is a local cop. I told him about it and he said he make sure I get home alright.

I'm in MN, so if i do it, I will need very warm clothes, some blankets, at least a chair, a thermos, and maybe even a cot so that i can actually get some sleep at night.

hopefully i can get a friend to do this with me, if not, it will be a lonely time.

yeah, i sure hope it doesnt happen. it was amazing how complacent everyone at best buy was when it happened though. Like a few people complained with me, but it was only me and my friend that shouted to the people who budged. And we didnt exactly know who budged, which made it harder.

I think the people just didnt want to start a fight or anyhting, and they knew itd probably have to come to that, in order for things to be set straight.

You know that. I went to a super Target, and they actually kicked us out from in front of the doors saying we couldn't be there. We just waited in the parking lot and went up to the doors after they closed at 11pm. Another group of kids were there too, and one actually worked at that Target, and said it wasn't a big deal. We had laptops, TVs, an original xbox, and electric blankets. We brought extension cords just in case, and needless to say, we found an outlet on the side of the building and got everything hooked up.

Hopefully they to do that again, kicking people out from in front of the doors. That way, I will be able to get down there right after work. I also hope it is cold as hell, so that the weaklings get weeded out. eBay here I come.
