Camera suction cup mount

I'm looking for some way to mount my Sony NEX 5N inside my car and this product looks good for the price. Anyone have any experience?

Some dashboards are textured/padded, and suction cups do not really hold very well. You may have to use the upper windshield on passengers side to get strong suction. You might also consider Velcro to a block of wood, then Velcro from block to camera.

I was hoping to use this on the front windshield itself. The dash is leather and probably won't work well.

That will probably work OK. Be sure and check local laws where you will use it. Some states, notably California, prohibit anything other than the rearview mirror attached to the windshield. I just went through that and had to get a beanbag mount for my GPS display. Georgia should be OK.

In that vein, check this out. Turns out the beanbag (shotbag really) is easy to use - easy to move in and out, and not leav your camera displayed as theft bait when parked.

This was going to be mainly for track usage so throw the state laws out the window. The bean bag mount may also be thrown out the window

I do know that Georgia only has a no texting, helmet and seat belt laws and that's about it. We can have window mounted GPS, radar detectors and laser jammers.
