Camera randomly erases photos - help!

I have a Sony DSC-F717; great camera, but it randomly erases pictures. I took ~100 some photos -- checked the memory stick and verified that they were on there -- took several more and then when I checked back the previous 50 or so were gone. This is not the first time this has happened. Sometimes the camera freezes and I have to "reset" (aka take out the battery) but the pictures that I had taken are gone. Any and all help appreciated.

could be defective. do you have a warranty? u can maybe RMA it

I'm running some of those data-recovery programs. It's a possibility that my memory stick is corrupt.

I've heard of that virus. You convince her to take all those nudes and then they randomly disappear! Heh Heh Heh

Haha. Anyways, good news. It turns out that it is a faulty memory card, or at least something that can be recovered via software. Got some pictures I thought were long gone!
