Anyone else notice Amazon raised camera prices across the board for Black Friday and has yet to lower them? e.g. Canon SX30IS - formerly $369 now $399
Enjoy the 'deals'!

Don't tell me I'm imagining things...

I was keeping an eye on the SX30IS, actually. It was $429 when it debuted, then hit $399, then $369 a week or two before Black Friday. On Black Friday it was $314, then jumped back up to $399. It's just standard gimmicky marketing tricks. It's 50% off, but we jacked up the price higher than MSRP before we did the sale! Muhahaha.

This is not news.
Black Friday has been the biggest scam dumped on the American people ever since it was first called Black Friday. Almost everything slowly rises in price before the big day and when they drop prices it seems like a bargain. Rarely do you get anything really cheap compared to the normal price. On Amazon this is especially obvious if you eyeball numbers all year long.

But yes, I wanted a Canon SD4000 and it hasnt been at a good price since I started looking this past summer.
Cameras do not drop quickly. WAAYYY too many players in the current market so nobody wants to start a price war. Healthy competition keeps the MSRP from skyrocketing, but thats all.
