Hey guys, I'm looking to pick up a 35mm Camera under $500. Just trying to find the best bang for your buck camera that you can get some pretty good pics out of. Also, since i'm very new to cameras (only really own a Fuji FinePix E510) it's gotta be pretty user friendly...

Any suggestions you guys can give me, i'd greatly appreciate it.

Ya no crap. Why would you want to spend money on a 35mm, let alone near 500 bucks. You are 2/3rds of your way to a nice digital SLR at that price.

Woah relax there tiger. I was just saying, no need to be ultra-defensive. I figured, since you said you were a camera noob, you didn't realize how cheap (relatively speaking) digital SLRs are nowadays. And how good in terms of quality they are, compared to a 35mm. In the long run it will probably be cheaper with a digital if you plan on using the camera a lot. Buying/Devoping film adds up.

Canon EOS, maybe a Rebel 2000. Should be able to get one cheaply from people switching to digital or new from stores looking to get rid of theirs.

Well a Canon EOS-3 is probably a bit out of your price range so I would say grab a Canon EOS ELAN 7NE. I used to have one and it was a good camera.
