need a tripod for macro shots of corals.

There HAS to be a decent one for under 100 bucks. thanks in advance.

the main thing I'm looking for is fine control for macro shots, would like it to be of pretty good quality and potable to pro-sumer class.

I don't do a lot of macro photography but I hear the best are Bogens, Manfrotto, and Gitzos. Make sure whatever you get has the sliding rail.

that looks like a decent tripod. price isn't too bad either (100 bucks)

my last tripod was a super cheap one and it was impossible to really move it around and frame macro shots.

Does it have fine control? Meaning you can just turn a dial to move it in small increments? Or is it one where you just lock down whatever position your in.

what's a sliding rail?

the difficult thing is getting the macros in perfect focus - I have to move the camera back and forth to really get it dialed in.

You might want to look at one with a reversible center post so you can get really low shots.

Maybe something like this, Bogen 719B
