Search ebay for Nikon D1 or Canon EOS D30.

One of those along with an inexpensive 50mm lens can capture very good photos.

  1. I take it you have/had a better deal for the boys... you're on, let's hear it. Links?
/me grabs popcorn, Pepsi and sells a few front row seats.

ROUND ONE!
Let's see your HOT DEAL bro!

Adam will be a great help in this topic, because I think the OP doesn't know what he's talking about. No doubt he'll be set straight in the long run.

I actually did post that link about one hundred times since just before Christmas. The Mods saw fit to blow away my original topic on the subject, because I offered it up to ATOT instead of Hot Deals, with that disclaimer in the topic title. Fvck those leaches. They'd have just bought it up and flipped it on Ebay. Sorry you've had to read about it so frequently, but the whole thing pissed me off.

Then post it again in the correct forum?

GOOD F0CKING LUCK!

Once you have seen a DSLR colours when 'not cropped' you can really appreciate the colours more. Just SMOOTH and non existent noise in the pics. Very nice pictures from a D70.

You will just have to down size your pics and it looks better for P&S cameras I'm afraid. BUT how often will you print big images? They will have noise in them when you view them 1:1 on a monitor.

You'll point out that it's not a matter of "color" setting them apart, but sharpness, or even poor automatic settings on his existing camera. Of course, he doesn't care to discuss that, "Let's just leave it at that."

Matter of fact, I'm still waiting for the examples!

Buy another Canon from Dell using a coupon  and learn how to properly take pictures.

Sub $300 you can get the V1 as Ornery suggests. It is one of Sony's best cameras still even though it is out of production.

Man, that's not too generic, is it?

Can you be a little more specific? I'm betting the one he has now can actually do as good a job as any other < $400.00 camera, where color is concerned. Personally, I doubt color accuracy is the problem here. I could prove it if I could see some stinkin' examples!

I know $400 is pretty low for this, but I'm willing to buy an old used model. I'm sure there are some old good quality DSLR's getting cheap these days.

What do you recommend?

I recommend posting a pic from your sucking camera so we can get an idea of what you are talking about.
