I currently have a LowePro Slingshot 200AW which is great for my Rebel XT and my 2 lenses (and soon to be owned flash), but I'm interested in getting something for when I have to travel home from school (flying) that can combine my backpack and my camera bag.

My requirements to be short:
-Must be able to carry my camera equipment, my 14" laptop, and maybe some books (anywhere between a couple small paperbacks to a textbook)
-A laptop-specific compartment is not needed as I have a sleeve for the notebook. It could just be a large general use compartment.
-It does not need to be a hard case, this would be a strictly carry-on item for when I fly.

Thanks for any recommendations.

Yeah, I do have a Lowepro bag already (the slingshot, which I love for when I just need to take my camera equipment), but I was wondering if anyone could recommend a specific one or had any experience with a combo backpack / camera case.

Lowepro Computrekker AW=Plenty of room in the laptop compartment for the laptop, and a couple of magazines. Camera compartment can hold a body, grip, telephoto, a few primes/normal zooms and a flash, and all the doo-dads like batteries, chargers, etc. The front compartment, can hold a bit, but not alot. It can expand out a bit, but it wouldn't hold a sweatshirt or anything. I usually put paperbacks, more batteries, boarding passes, pens, mp3 player, etc. in there.

Lowepro CompuRover AW=Holds your laptop, and the main compartment is generous. However it will hold only the body, and a couple of lenses in the camera compartment. Anything else would go in the main/top compartment.

So it boils down to what do you have more? Personal items or camera gear that needs the padding? I have more gear, so I had to get the Computrekker.

Also, The 'AW' means all weather. There is a fold out rain cover on the bottom, just un-velcro it, and it covers the bag in a downpour.
