I just came home tonight, and my 24/7 OCed PC had an "IRQ_LESS_OR_EQUAL" BSOD. I rebooted, and the screen flashed off (black - no signal) twice while XP was booting. Eventually, when I got to my desktop, the resolution was all wrong. It turns out, I lost my DDC info somehow - it's not detecting DDC and therefore the proper resolution support. I managed to get back to my LCD's native resolution, by manually specifying a max res of 1680x1050 in the advanced display properties. I have an ATI Radeon X1950GT, using a DVI-I to VGA converter. I've rebooted twice, and still no DDC to be seen.
Is there a way I can diagnose this problem? Is it the video card, or the LCD? Did something wipe out my DDC info before/during the BSOD? How rare a problem is this? It just seems strange to me.
It was raining out too, while I was away. Is it possible that lightning caused this problem? I have my computers on an APC BE550R UPS, and my other computer was just fine when I came home. (Both were left running.)
