I'm looking to do some amateur films. I REALLY want the smooth slow motion... I heard sony had a cam corder that does 200fps, but i heard the quality was bad... what do you guys suggest? I also want some manual features, for instance, i want to be able to set the aperture settings to get a proper depth of focus.

I was looking into this recently, and I decided to purchase the Casio EX-F1 which does 30, 300, 30-300, 600 and 1200 fps. There are quite a few videos on you tube of this camera. I can't give you a personal account of it yet, but I hope to receive the camera in the next day or two.

My Sony HC-7 does 120i for 3 second bursts. But it is about 640x480, grainy looking, and takes a touch screen manual trigger. If the Casio does it, check it out first.

And as jpeyton says, "consumer". High fps cameras are very expensive and still tend to be film if you want quality.
