First of all I'm sorry if this isn't in the right section, I figured it might be the right one so bear with me.
Okay I have a big family meet & wedding coming up and I was really wanting to make some footage of this and turn it into a nice dvd. I've taken classes on adobe premier so I know a bit about editing and stuff like that. What I am looking for is a camcorder, not sure what I want miniDV or miniDVD or HDD. Most of the sites I see up now only recommend the HD camcorders which is nice but is that really needed for me barely shooting stuff, half of my family doesn't have a hdtv. I would love to have a HD one myself for just playing around with and I've got quite a few tv's I could use it on. I'm just wondering what's a good camera to get. I had a friend wanting to sell me his canon zr850 miniDV one but the reviews I've been seeing put it in as just average where some people said the image quality was crap. I'm just wanting to know what's good. I guess if I were to get a regular definition one I'd say I'd spend maybe 300 max on it. I mean should I just go ahead and get a HD one since it's pretty much the norm now or just get a regular one since I won't use it that often?
