camcorder editing

My neighbour has edited some camcorder footage on his computer and all went well, but now that the editing has been done , he cannot get the video back on to the camcorder to put it on his tape for filing. This is a British or European camcorder which he understands to be blocked from recording back to the tape from the computer. Anyone have any ideas or help? Thanks
