I know, price has been there before, but not without a MIR, if I am correct. You CAN order 2 max...but I fail to see the reason, unless you're ordering one as a gift....I still have not figured out how to split myself in two.........yet....

Link to the promo

Watch this though...most likely will have to pay tax and shipping defaults to 2nd day, which is outrageous....

Ok, how did you find this deal? Its no where on creative's site. I should ask how did you get to that link? I'm wondering if shipping is free, because when I go to online shopping at the creative site, a pop up window tells me there is free shipping on sound cards and speakers till 6/30.

Also is this the same as the pc version? Does the package just contain a different set of cables?

Thanks Mask, don't think the shipping makes it worth my while. I can get a price like that at a comp show.

Do any of you have these speakers? I would like to get a set and hook them up to my Apex DVD player in my bedroom. This looks like one of the few 5.1 options for under $200. They should hook right up to an Apex 500W right?

I have them. They're good speakers. You can connect with a SPDIF(coaxial) cabel for true 5.1 sound.

i got these speakers last month. i price matched a similar link with staples.com and got them shipped for 150+10(shipping)-30staplescoupon + some tax which worked out to be $140. it wasnt easy and i tried about 2 times before having a csr price match. they came in 2 days :)

now coming to the sound part..these speakers are great for movies. i dont have a dvd player. i watch it on the computer with these and it really kicks butt. the subwoofer runs out of breath at higher volume levels. i hope i see a cheap deal on a powered subwoofer..it has an outlet for that !

It comes with every conceivable type of input port (line in front/rear, spdif in , digital in ( useful if you have a sb live) and a optical in ( only in playworks too hook this up to ps2)
note staples doesnt carry playworks and only carries soundworks. but they still priced matched since both had the same model no dtt2500.

if you are like me and cant afford a home theatre as yet..then this is the best system out there in that price range .. for a dorm room or computer room this is perfect..

edit:
to price match instead of giving them the url give them the telephone no 1-800-998-1000. the web site has promo, savings and discount all over the place..so staples uses that as an excuse not to PM.. ask the staples csr to call creative and then ask them about the offer on dtt2500.

I have the dtt2500 and there's no optical in/out. Are you sure you don't have the dtt3500 or did they upgrade the dtt2500 to take optical in? These are great speakers for the price... however since they have the cheaper dtt2200 and the nicer dtt3500, I don't see the need to go right in the middle and get the dtt2500.

yeah he is right. If you do a search for DTT2500 at computers4sure and compare the two results you will se that one can connect to the ps2 and the other does not (item 51000000AA019 does). Thay also have a power difference of 5 watts??

Uggg, so much for that idea. The $15 coupon doesn't work. This item in not in the "electronics" cat.

creative has two models of the dtt 2500
playworks- has an optical in.
soundworks- no optical in.

i have the sound works ..the one staples carry. up on receiving this unit i called up creative to get them to switch with the playworks.. they said they coudnt do that. they also told me that the play works retails for about 20$ more than soundworks version. i coudnt figure that one out.
