Cambridge Soundworks CS ROCKS :)

So, I have a nice suround sound setup from Cambridge Soundworks (HiFi.com), and right next to our TV I have an 8" downfiring subwoofer. My son is laying on the floor watching TV, and procedes to sneak his foot underneath the sub, and poke his toe through the cone. AAGGHHHH!!!!!

I call Cambridge, and here's our conversation:

Me: Hello, I have a problem with my subwoofer. The speaker cone has a tear in it and.....
CS: OK, can I get your address?
Me: Uh...sure <give address>
CS: The sub came with our Movieworks 308 package we sent you in August of 2000?
Me: Yes...that's it.
CS: OK, we'll send you out a new one. You should recveive it in a few days. Place the old one into the box when you get it, then attach the supplied shipping label and return it within 15 days.
Me: Oh! Uhh....great! Thanks!

A couple of days later, CS calls me back:

CS: Uh, Mr <Fritzo>?
Me: Yes?
CS: This is reguarding your subwoofer return. We don't manufacture that particular model anymore, so the closest equivelent we would have is one of our 10" Netwon series. The case is a bit more squared and it's larger...would this be acceptable?
Me: ABSOLUTELY!!!
CS: Great. We'll have that out to you shortly. You do not have to return the old subwoofer.

Now does that rock or what???

Cambridge's subs are pretty powerful. Our 17x12 family room doesn't really need anything more powerful, the one we had before would shake your boobies all over the place I can't imagine what this one will be like.

I have an old desktop theatre system 5.1 analog and it r0x0rs my b0x0rs for its age picked it up for £80 and the sub although very small can pump bass like nobodys buiness

Heh. Turn it up about 2/3 of the way and I'll proabably be able to feel that over here in Iowa
