Cambridge or creative?

Im gonna buy a 4.1 sound system and am looking to spend around $50 for it. I like the Creative Labs inspire 4400 and the Cambridge FPS1600. I know they are made by the same people, but is either speaker set better than the other? They run around the same price and I think the cambridge one is a little older.

suggest you compare the specs for the 2.
you may well find that the creative badged one is the same with only a cosmetic difference!

I just bought the FPS1600 yesterday. At $40, I couldn't pass it up. Having had the original CS system since they came out, I decided it was time to upgrade the speaker system. They sound great to me.

If you are really wanting to see what the better system is, check the specs. Unfortunately, with speakers, and hearing, it's really going to be subjective based on the listener. Best bet is to listen to them side by side (if possible) and decide what sounds better to you.

CS, being the premium brand, should have higher-quality parts. The Creative part, being newer, is likely to have better technology and features.

I'll repeat the chorus: check the specifications.

Yeah, they are identical spec wise. Im a car audio freak so I checked all that out. I think you are right about the cambridge being a better brand and creative having newer features, so I just ordered the creative cause the site was out of the cambridge anyway. Its just gonna be my dorm room speakers, not like I can afford the type of stuff I'm used to hearing in cars anyway. Thanks guys.
