Now that Teflon is a known carcinogen, this cookware ought to sell like hotcakes! :D:D:D

I bought this a while back when I got the 13 piece commercial hard anodized set for $170. I think I paid $40 for it back then. I love these pots/pans. I have never had any problems with them and they clean so easliy (just remember you to hand wash).

i just bought this pan for $25 a couple weeks ago. Very nice pan -- but the walls are a little thinner than some of my other calphalon pots. Overall, very much worth >$25, imo.

Note: the pan is HUGE in diameter. if you have a small stove, it might be a problem.

ps - No teflon

No. Teflon is not a carcinogen, one of the chemicals used to produce Teflon is possibly a carcinogen. None of the possible carcinogen ends up in the finished Teflon.

MSNBC recently had a big exposé on cancer and Teflon. Seems like Teflon's been under suspicion for quite some time due to a component that causes brain cancer, among others.
The EPA stated earlier this year that its draft risk assessment of perfluorooctanoic acid and its salts found ?suggestive evidence? of potential human carcinogenicity, based on animal studies.

In a draft report released Monday, the majority of members on an EPA scientific advisory board that reviewed the agency?s report concluded that PFOA, also known as C-8, is ?likely? to be carcinogenic to humans
Bummer!
Edited to say:
I'll bet this pan sells a lot better now that it is known that Calphalon does not contain Teflon.

"Teflon is not a carcinogen, one of the chemicals used to produce Teflon is possibly a carcinogen. None of the possible carcinogen ends up in the finished Teflon." - straight off the DuPont web site.

Just a quick adjunct...
It was stated that PFOA does not break-down..."PFOA lasts Forever" (and I quote).

They raised the price. Still a good deal if you have any use for it. It's very big. If you cook for more than two people it could be a great pot. I've had one for a few years but haven't used it yet. It seems to linger on at amazon year after year and the price generally goes lower and lower. I paid something like 45 bucks for mine and then it was a great deal.
