Calling Us Only 800 #'s

Does anyone know of a good way to call US only 800 numbers from Canada. I used to be able to use net2phone when it was free. Then they switched to cutting you off after 5 minutes. But now they want you to buy time $25 minimum I think which I will never use.

Basically I'm looking for a free or low minimum net based phone or even a number in the US I can call long distance and it just lets me redial another number.
 
skype is only good for calling other skype people. I would need skypeout but can't find any info on their page with regards to rates or minimums for skypeout's VOIP to PSTN service.

Last I heard it was 1.2 cents per minute.
 
Just checked it out now and skypeout is only available as a beta right now. Some plantronics headsets in europe come with skypeout time cards. But you can't purchase time fromt he website etc.
