Calling people that are using SERO..have a couple of issues

I ordered a Motorola Q9C with Sero and so far, so good except two problems.

1. I tried to use the internet and it would work fine but then sometime, at the same exact spot a few minutes or a few hours later, I would not be able to use the internet. The error message was "connection lost" or something like that. How could that possible? Any fixes?

2. I also tried to do the $25 debit refer with another ATOT member. After I entered his phone number as the referer, the computer said "I am not eligible". What up? Anyone know how to do the refer thing?

The internet thing....there is a setting to choose your connection...one is internet one is auto. It is auto by default...change it to internet. Do you have the EV logo for your connection on your homescreen or does it say 1X? 1X would indicate a poor signal.

As far as $25 credit...its hit or miss. Typicall because SERO is so heavily discounted, youre not SUPPOSED to be eligable for any other discounts. Might want to send a note to ecare and ask.

glad to see you got your plan and everything works! i ordered another line myself, for a friend. i just did it online agaiin, but this time im not calling support by phone for confirmation, ill just wait a week and see what happens.


for the internet- are you tethering your device? i notice that sometimes a tethered connection will drop out and need to be reconnected every once and awhile.

also, if you are playing with a wifi card, that can make your device get confused on what network to use, but you didnt say you had one so... definitely try blackangst1's suggestion


and as for the SERO discounts, its absolutely hit or miss. sprint also terminates contracts if you badger their cs too much, so honestly be happy with the $30 plan you have and leave it at that....

blackstangst1 - I only have the 1X and not EV logo. I understand that 1X means slower speed and EV means broadband speed? It works most of the time but sometime it just said "lost connection" even I was on the net just earlier (even it only have 1 or 2 bar). I did change the setting in "connections" option to internet.

Do you have the email of ecare - so I can ask them about the $25 refer?


zig3695 - I only use the phone itself for the net. Too slow to do tether with another computer and no wifi either.

I mean the $30 is a great deal. Now only if the net works all the time and I get the $25 debit card that would be even better.

im glad i waited! sprint sent me an email two days later saying they really want me to call and confirm the order, and they'd give me $25 for doing so! my first month's bill (and the next two) is $13.56! for 500 anytime, 7pm nights, unlimited net and texts! hell fuckin yeah....

edit: actually, it was more like 9.50... i had a $4 theme on there

You're only getting a 1x connection with 1-2 bars and you're wondering why you can't consistently connect from that location...?

You're only getting a 1x connection with 1-2 bars and you're wondering why you can't consistently connect from that location...?

I get EVDO with one bar myself, It just depends on availablility. 1X and EVDO are two different protocols, and EVDO isnt rolled out everywhere. As far as 1X, if you have voice service, you should have data. If not, you should open a ticket for tech to roll a truck to check tower in your area.

yeah i can confirm now that i get solid throughput on evdo with one bar too. now that i have tcpmp setup properly (big video buffer) i find that i can get seamless video almost anywhere now. i drove 25mi the other day and not one hiccup. just nothing but cable tv in my car for $30 a month (i can make phone calls too! )
