OH HAI THERE!

How do I find a square root of two manually?
I understand how to find square root of numbers like 4096 manually (number is between 60 and 70 - 60*60 = 3600 and 70*70 = 4700) - pick and guess.

I am awaiting your responses, o leet gurus, and may your epeen++!

Multiply 2 by 100 (10 squared) and estimated for square root of 200
The result will be 10 times the square root of 2

It's not HW, it's just an assignment with no grade.

I generally do the quess and check. 1.4 is too low, but 1.5 is too high, so the value is 1.4 something. Repeat for the next digit, 1.41 is too low but 1.42 is too high. Repeat again.

Well I have sqrt(2) memorized, but I pretty much do this method for other things, good enough for government work!
