That takes skills. I couldn't do it without laughing my tail off at the first greeting. Maybe he had already had enough practice in places he did work that it came naturally.

Yeah, I was hoping that he would end it with something good like that, but oh well, it's just YouTube after all.

I could only manage listening for about 15 seconds before he made me want to shoot myself.

Actually the lady on the phone should get comcommended for being professional, and handing the situation in a reasonable manner.

Huh. Didn't find that very humorous. The guy in the video apparently thought it was hilarious.

I think she should be fired for wasting time talking on the phone with someone that she should have known wasn't her employee.

The manager is the same type of idiot who would smash out all the windows when someone calls and says there is a gas leak.

If you work at a retail store that employs maybe 100 employees (which wouldn't be impossible for a large department store) how would you be expected to know all of the employees, especially those that don't work for you and claim to only have worked there a few weeks?

Shit like this just proves to me poor Tom Green was so ahead of his time it is crazy to think about in retrospect. He was THE original "annoy people and film it" jerkwad, and he show was basically a youtube channel before they existed.

The greek guy who invented a steam engine and Tom Green have to go down as the most ahead of their time men in history.

This is probably the type of store he is calling, BUT, she is too cocky to admit that she doesn't know who he is, so she plays along. Her tone was inquisitive at first, but quickly changes when she realizes she has a chance to lay down the law. So, in the end, I think Humpy got it right.

In the video after he said he worked in electronics she said "Oh you're one of MY employees then" and explained that she had electronics. It was her division, so I would hope she would have known better. Not that she deserved to be fired but if it's truly her area then it's a little embarrassing.

I wouldn't expect the store manager to know every employee by name. I also wouldn't expect the store manager to take the calls when employees call in sick. That would seemingly be a lower level person in charge of fewer people.

Still, if you aren't sure of who you are talking to the first thing you should do is establish that you should indeed be talking to them. She should be fired for being a security risk. :)

I don't get why it's funny, either. General Managers/Human Resources do the hiring. I've never been introduced to my supervisor before I started work. It's always been the day of, or within a few days if there's a rotating schedule. The guy said he started 6 days ago. That doesn't mean he's worked 6 shifts. I think the lady handled it just fine, in good faith.
