An undocumented teen immigrant who was in federal custody petitioned to get an abortion.

After receiving administration approval and taking the first of the two abortifacients the head if the Office of Refugee Settlement, an appointee of the current administration who had fought pervious court orders allowing undocumented teens access to medical care (abortions), actively weighed subjecting the teen to an unproven “abortion reversal” procedure. This procedure has not been shown to be effective nor safe for the woman.

Vice also obtained transcripts of a deposition brought against the Trump administration by the American Civil Liberties Union. In it, Lloyd confirmed he discussed trying out the experimental procedure on the teen. All this came after the office had already forced her to delay taking the second pill for hours in order to establish the “health status” of her “unborn child,” according to a March 6, 2017 memo. Officials also subjected the teen to an examination at a local hospital, where medical professionals found a fetal heartbeat more than 24 hours after she took the first pill.

While they ultimately did not force the experimental procedure on the girl, (only the medical exam), the mere fact they seriously considered it and went so far as to call the clinic about performing it is horrific.

This may come as a shock to some but simply the crossing the border even illegally, even as a pregnant minor, does not give the government the implicit right to experiment on you.

You'd think people would have learned their lesson after those horrible eugenics experiments on African Americans in the 50s.

It doesn't make any sense at all to me. What is she still doing in the country and what kind of idiot would want to stop her abortion?

She was or is awaiting a hearing. It's a rule of law kind of thing.

Idiot? Anti-abortion zealot. Need you ask?

Trump administration tries to block abortion for pregnant undocumented immigrant

Looks like it was AG Sessions.

Requiring the government to allow her to go to a clinic for an abortion could "incentivize illegal immigration by pregnant minors," [DoJ lawyers] argued.
Umm, WTF??? I don't think they understand the core reason for illegal immigrants to seek a life in the United States...

It's pure bullshit-

There has also been an increase in the number of Texas women traveling to Mexico to buy cheap misoprostol, according to NPR. Although an abortion might cost a woman $500 in Texas, misoprostol costs around $50 in Mexico. In addition, misoprostol is available without a prescription south of the border.

We need to remember that a lot of folks see women as incubators first and people second.

Just look at that disturbing story from the SOTU last night. It was supposed to be an uplifting story about how the cop and his wife saved the baby. Cop sees pregnant woman getting ready to shoot up and he ends up with her child because God spoke to him.

What happened to the mother? Didn’t matter. Didn’t matter whether they let her OD or got her help. The important part last night was the baby, the mother was unimportant.

Actually on that he worked hard to get her help. He found a place in Florida willing to take in her and the father for free to get clean. Got so far as they were at the airport about to get on the plane but they both couldn’t do it. They would rather live the life they were leading. That cop did everything he could for them all but they have to want to change their habits.

An administration populated by rank savages hires more rank savages to dispense their savagery wherever possible.
