calling cards? anyone use them?

my friend told me those calling cards you get in Sam's Club have awesome rates, like $0.10 a minute. well I don't have a Sam's Club memebership (wait, do I need one). where else can I get one?

SAms club are probobly the best, the rest charge connection fees that will kill any margin between 3-10 cents. In other words if you talk for long periods of time (i.e. half hour or more) than the cards are worth it. If your just making quick 5-10 minute calls then those ones will be used up in no time. Sams club uses AT&T cards that don't charge as hgih of connection rates and thus you truely do get all the minutes your buying.

urrg... so I do need a Sam Club membership then huh?

anyway, he will be using a pay phone to make those calls. most of them locals and some internationals.

You can usually get a one day pass for free at Sam's Club. Then just recharge the calling card over the phone using a credit card when the minutes are used up.
