Many websites w. calling cards have seperate cards for use with cell phones. Anyway, I have a regular calling card and my gf in Spain and I have been using landlines with the calling cards to call. But, I want to use my cell phone. When I use my card to call her, will the card know its a cell phone?

i think when you call her cell phone while she is in spain, you get charged a different rate than calling her on her landline in spain

this was the case for me and calling my gf while she was in taiwan

it cost a lot more to call her cell than her local home phone

I'm pretty sure you can't use standard calling cards on your cellphone. It'd be something you can get customer service to answer though, let them know what you want to do and what kind of card you have and they can tell you if you'll pay more or not.

That's what I thought. What I don't get is how the cell phone knows since you're just dialing a 1888 number.

WTF?

It's ok to dial FROM a cell phone but the destination should be a LANDLINE.

So yes it's ok to use your cell phone (you will be using cell phone minutes even if it's a 888 number). I've done it HUNDREDS of times calling Australia and other companies using my calling card.
