How much would it cost to have my car repainted? I want to strip the black paint off and put on a new color. I want it to be Sunburst Yellow, and have a good clear coat and protective coat. thanks car gods.

Maaco Ambassador: $199

Real Paint job with stripping, masking, light bodywork: $6000

Shop around - few jobs can vary as much in price as a paint job. Keep in mind - you do get what you pay for...

u dont need a $6,000 paint job, you do however need more than a $200 maaco job. go to local body shops, a good paint job will cost about $2000. what year is your car? I've been thinking about a new paint job, not because it is peeling or fading, just because i am tired of the color and the car is only a year old.

it's a 2002 SER SpecV. It's a known prob that the paint is sh1t on these cars, and it's flaking off. So far, after 2.5 months I've got 5 spots that are affected. Sat I'm taking it to Nissan and am going to try to get them to repaint it cause the factory paint is too thin. If they don't and I can't scare them with legal action for not backing their warranty I'll get it painted out of my own pocket. But if I'm paying for it I want something good and a color that isn't normally available.

you do realize... that no matter how much you pay...
you'll always never get the paint job they did at the factory.

unless you really hate the color...
expect to repaint ever 2-5 years... as the paint will fade.

If you want to change the color of the car, nad not have it look like crap, at least $5000.

Anything less and you're not ging to get the inside of anything painted. Open the hood, and it'll be black. pull off a door panel and it'll be black. behind the gas door, will probably be black, etc.

If you want to get the car painte dso it looks like it camne yellow from the factory that way, you'll have to pull EVERYTHING out of the car. The dash, the motor, the interior.

At the very least, you'd want to pull the motor and paint the engine compartment.

That's not true. You can get better than factory paint. If you tear the car down to the frame, have it sandblasted, etc.

It'll be $10k plus, but you can do it.

If only I had the money. :( I'd like to make it a show car.(tastefully, not a bunch of gay stickers and lowered to scrape the ground.)
