CA does not offer any tax breaks for picking a 529 in-state, so I'm looking a different states to see which one is better.

I'm looking for something with low fees, and with a good list of funds to pick from. I'm leaning towards Utah Educational Savings Plan Trust (yeah, I know), seems to meet the 2 criteria above.

Any suggestions from the folks on the board?

529 plans are crap. Too many restrictions and hoops to jump through. Max out 401k and IRA, then just invest the rest in a taxable account with some tax efficient investments.

I remember hearing that alot of the 529 plans aren't very good, but IIRC Virginia is supposed to have a pretty good plan setup. Might want to look at that one and see if it fits your needs.
