I've heard of people aging homebrews in the refrigerator for over a year. It's not going to turn poisonous or anything, so you don't have much to lose. Smell it- if it doesn't smell nasty, try it and let us know how it was.

I guess it depends on the beer.

I have a bottle of Three Philosophers from that year in my fridge. I've been meaning to crack it open, some people suggest that aging some beers gives them a fuller flavor. I think normal aging is done in a dark cool place though, like a basement.

It's fine just drink it, beer doesn't go bad if it's in a closed bottle. It might not taste the same, but the notion that beer isn't fresh after a certain time and goes bad is just marketing from beer companies.

Lemme know if you wanna meet up @ StA one day. Or maybe a day trip out to Southern Star? No Label should be having a brewery day once their new systems are up and running.

The higher the alcohol content, the longer it's usually good for. The general rule is you should try to drink "normal" beer within 6 months of it being bottled. 8% and higher ones you can leave around longer.

I had a can of Labatt blue in my beer fridge for nigh on 4 years once. Some guy came over and drank it and he said it was fine.
