Hello

I own 2 sgi 1600sw LCDs. Max resolution on them is 1600x1024 but I cannot get this resolution with the nvidia references drivers. This resolution works correctly with the matrox g400, elsa geforce3 drivers and the geforce3 drivers on the WinXP cd but thats it. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on the subject. Also, I user powerstrip and suggested by sgi but that did not work. SGI also did say that the nvidia reference drivers would not work, only certain older versions. Can anyone offer any help :)

thx in advance

It should autodetect the monitor, if not, try installing whatever driver cd that came with the monitor. Of that I'm aware, you need to use the VGA in order to get resolutions of 1600x1024. Also, is that monitor capable of 1600x1024?

its not a problem with selecting the resolution. The correct resolution is there. The sgis maximum resolution is 1600x1024. What happens when I set the resolution is that the image is squished. There is an "alternate" mode that stretches the image accross the screen but the image is messed up. I am guessing that the video card does not communicate with the monitor correctly. So all the pixels are being displayed just at a 1280x1024 resolution. The image is just distorted horizontally. I was able to use this resolution with other video drivers, its just the nvidia reference drivers that dont work. Since elsa is out of business, I cannot use their drivers anymore.
