I am looking to buy a used car, and I really would like to get a 325i. Unfortunately, I have always heard that BMW's cost tons of money to maintain the car from year to year. I was hoping maybe a 325 owner could tell me roughly what it costs yearly to keep the car maintained. The ones I can afford are in the 2000-2002 range, and most have anywhere from 65-95k miles.

Thanks!

I went through the same thoughts a few months ago. I love this model/years of BMW's. They drive nearly perfect, and it's a very clean and modern design.
The maintenance cost did throw me off. I am surprised when I called my parents asking for advice, and they put it best: Premium car, premium maintenance cost.
I think I am going to wait on when my budget/income is a little better.

Just do what I did... lease a shiny new Helga (what I named my 2007 328i) for two years. Three if you're being a little more 'rational'. Free maintenance for the entire time you have the car. Aside from covering everything from oil changes (every 15k miles I believe?) to brakes to wiper fluid and blades, the only thing you are responsible for is the tires. Well, tires, insurance, monthly payment, and gas.

Regardless of the route you take, you will never want to drive anything else after you've had a BMW. =)

i am debating between a lease and a buy as well. Gotta do the math on which is more "fiscally responsible"
