There is one episode where Homer's car ends up parked illegally in between the 2 towers. Basically, the whole episode revolves around the twin towers. In light of what has happened, do you think that Matt Groening or Fox is going to stop showing that episode?

I'm not really sure if Matt Groening has that kind of say in it. It may be FOX, or whoever holds the rights since that is not a new episode.

It doesn't revolve around the towers. There is a few gags, but its a minor part. Most of the episode is New Yorker jokes taking place in lots of locations. I think your just being a little too sensitive to the issue.

I read somewhere that that scene was never a part of the movie in the first place, that it was only created for the preview. But I did hear that it is being pushed back, along with the new Schwarzenegger movie and a number of others...

Well, excuse me. It was just a thought because I heard that Sony is going to remove all images of the twin towers from Spiderman - the movie.

I'm sorry for being so sensitive... after all, 5,000 people died on September 11. But then again, since that doesn't really affect YOU why should you care, right?

[edit] changed number to 5,000..... that's still a massive loss of life [/edit]

Unfortunately, that was the only funny part of that episode. Might as well chuck it now.

20,000? Um, no. Reports have shown a little under 5000 people (including passengers on the 4 aircraft) are unaccounted for.

This whole issue is very hard for all of us to deal with but I agree that sometimes its very easy to get a bit over sensitive to the Twin Towers
I think that we should not go around tearing down pictures of the Twin Towers. Fly your flags light your candles , come together in this time of need but dont go over board about this keep a level head on.

How does removing that episode do anything for what happened at the WTC? How is it disrespectful? I don't know why Sony removed the Spiderman scene, but maybe it was inappropriate in some way.

And i agree... you are a little sensitive. How the heck does this relate in anyways to people not caring about what happened to the WTC?

That is sooooooo true , we all feel sadness in our hearts for those that were lost on Sept. 11th

But it ticks me off when I see people just going way overboard about it

Like I said before keep a level head

I haven't seen the clip in spiderman so I can't comment. And I don't recall that simpsons episode either. But I doubt people will be offended by that, just cause of this horrific incident. All of these started before the incident, therefore not knowing about it, therefore not 'cracking' at it or implying anything about it. So it isn't disrespectful to it at all. Do the so called towers resemble the WTC towers, ARE THEY the WTC towers? That may make a difference.

In any case, if they remove stuff, good for them... It's no big deal. You shouldn't care that they DID remove it, and if they don't... You probably shouldn't take offense to it, but it's understandable if some people do.

Look, I'm not trying to be the "ultimate patriot angel." I am not advocating that the episode should be removed or that it should be kept. I didn't mean any disrespect or anything.

I was starting to feel like a minority here and pretty much everywhere else. I was shocked. And still horrified by what happend and desparately wanted to go help. I have even sent a couple of hundred dollars to the effort, but did feel most people who were not directly involved, were going a bit overboard with their sensitivity of the issue and their flag waving. If reciting the pledge over and over again, and singing america the beautiful helps you through this time, so be it. I will stand along beside you and sing along in my own off key tone. But, the time for planning and action is now. Lets decide how we are going to deal with the situation rather than dwell on it.

Again, may sound like being a heartless bastard, but I am more of a task solving kinda guy and this is the way I deal with it.

And I appologize if I hurt your feelings too, Angel.
