Calling all resident metros

Looking to add some more semi-formal clothes to my wardrobe.

What do you guys think of the following ensemble

--------------
Ensemble 1
Shirt
The jacket I would be using is a Jack Victor striped 3 piece suit jacket (don't like how long blazers are, so I use suit jackets as opposed to blazers.) No pics of that.
Jeans
or
Jeans 2
Shoes
Belt (I like my belts to be flareless...colorful belts just don't work for me.)

At first I thought the light blue jeans wouldn't work with the black jacket, but with the loafers being so light... it just might!
-------------

Ensemble 2
--------------
Pants
Shirt
(Would be using a pink tie as opposed to the blue tie in the pic)

For the shoes in that pic I'd be using some plain black "dress" shoes. Same belt as the other outfit.
--------------

Anyone know some good places to find jeans? I'm not a huge fan of the BR jeans... but I've been far too lazy to bother finding other stores which have some well fitting boot cut style jeans.

Structure or (express men) as it's now called has some good sh!t if you're into that look, but let me vote a hell no on those shoes..

and no, not a metro.

I think jeans are always a no-go. Now some Dockers in varying colors, a nice selection of polos and collarless shirts with some hush puppies and dress shoes would look nice.

I'm hell bent on using the jacket, and if you put dockers with it it gets too formal.

my motto is dress comfy, and make sure you don't look like an idiot in the mirror. if not, then all is good.

Dark jeans then, none of that denim, stone-washed crap.

I have too many pairs of dark jeans 🙁 I guess I may go for some dockers and then loose the dress shirt and just add a tee, to make it a bit more casual.

Now that sounds good, a white tee always look good with a jacket. 🙂

For the first ensemble I like the darker jeans but i dont think those lighter colored shoes look good with the dark jeans/dark shirt combo.

Ya, I'd probably go with darker loafers in that case... just want to stay away from black, because then it doesn't set itself apart from the jacket.

Express has some nice jeans imo. You might get lucky if you check the store now and find a pair for $20, though the ones on sale this time around had extremely crappy distressing - it looked like someone took an angle grinder to two small spots on one leg in the thigh area, and then made tiny vertical dashes at a regular interval all around the hem at the ankles. Really quite ugly.

They also have a $20 off denim sale starting the 18th which should bring the prices down to $40-50 on the jeans that actually look good 🙂

With the look you're going for with the 1st ensemble, pick nice colored t shirt that compliments the whole ensemble and wear the dress shirt unbuttoned. That's a good look

Never heard of any express stores up here. Is it an American thing only?

Can't find their site with a quick google search!

Yep, maybe I'll pick up a dirty hooker on my way to dinner to make it look completely authentic.

Some of us don't enjoy dressing like white trash! 😉

Probably go with black or white; I don't like to be too colorful.
