I'm considering getting one. Please share your opinions of it, both good and bad.

Or should I just go for the 64mb DDR? Or neither?

Stability/compatibility is #1 priority. DVD decoding interests me. Gaming isn't as important as it once was. I may (or may not) do Win2k soon.

I recently traded for the 64meg ddr vivo model and love it. I previously had the ASUS 6800 DLX card but always had some sort of issue with it. MP3s wouldnt encode properly (yes, thats right, I had mp3 encoding problems because of the vid card) and all other sort of VIA/GEFORCE/ASUS problems. The Radeon produces no problems whatsoever. I prefer the vivo type of cards rather than tuner cards. They seem clearer to me. I just attach my VCR and use its tuner with cable plugged into the VCR. I also have a LD, Sony PS, N64, 3DO (stop laughing), Sega Saturn (I said stop laughing!)and my camcorder plugged in via a vid switch card. The ONLY beef I have with the Radeon card is that it has no s-video in like the ASUS did. But it has been extremely stable.

The win2k drivers still are in need of work.

But on my borthers win98se machine, duron 800. It runs pretty much all his games very well.

Dark Reign 2 we can crack up everything to max and still manage smooth framrates.
tribes works ok, considering it is a glide based game.
UT works very well on it. Liquid smooth at 1024.
We are going to try out giants, Mech warrior 4, sacrafice, and any other game we can dig up.

Color quality is just fantastic. I wish I had one for myself, but again, win2k drivers need work.

VIVO features are pretty cool to. We were playing N64 on monitor :p

If you do get one, be sure it is the retail version, has the OEM is clock slower.

Running WindowsME, and so far its been flawless with the 7072 Drivers.
Other than the regular hiccups with Illegal operations with the TV/DVD software, there hasn't been any notible problems or causes of headaches(except for excessive UT fragging). All the games I've played run beautifully including UT, Half life, NHL 2001, Rune.

I've been pleased so far owning this AIW Radeon.

So, plugging my Dreamcast into the Video In will work like a charm?

Wow, I hadn't thought of that.

TIVO: You can use the cables provided with the AIW package and output the video to a TV using either S Video, or composite output.

Try downloading the latest Beta win2k drivers from rage3d.com. I've seen some benchmarks showing some huge increase in performance in win2k using the newest betas instead of the non-betas.

"The win2k drivers still are in need of work."

Nope. They are OK to me. :)

What is great about the AIW Radeon is you actually get a whole lot of great features for the money and it balances between moderate gaming and multimedia. :D

AIW Radeon AGP works great for me (an all scsi system) under WinME, in W2K everything works fine except DVD playback. Locks up the entire system.

So far everything has been fine with my AIW Radeon. I run a dual boot, WIN98 and WIN2K and I haven't had a single problem. I haven't ran any real intense games yet or tried the Analog Video Capture which is my next venture. But the TV and 2D are excellent and I've yet to have any driver problems.

Let me clarify, I've had zero driver problems with the drivers from ATI. I did have several problems with some crap drivers I got from RAGE3D. I can't remember the version number but thier forum was full of complaints about that release.
