I'd like to add a sink to the laundry room ...

Any idea on ballpark to add a drain and necessary water lines?

pretty easy if it's a laundry room to tap hot/cold lines for a faucet

question for drain is where does your washing machine currently drain?

I'm supposing that this sink will sit next to washer/dryer. Copper is not cheap. Distances will matter.

Copper pipe and fittings $60
PVC drain $30
6 slices wonderbread $1

Sink and faucet? Free standing utility sink? $150-$300?

Drywall/mud/tape? $25



I am not a plumber, but I put in a bathroom down my basement last year so I was pricing stuff like this.

The washer drains out next to the water lines ...

I was reading that if you have 2" lines that you can tap in with no problem ... I'll have to check ...

I take it you all ready have a washer? Than you have a 2" drain. Is it black plastic,(ABS), white plastic,(PVC), or iron? Is the laundry room drywalled? Is your house plumbing cvpc,(plastic)? if it is you can easily do this yourself. If it is copper, and you don't already own a torch, and all of the accessories, AND you don't know how to use one, call a plumber.
OR do you have a friend with knowledge, tools, and drinks beer? You *can* run the lines on the outside of the wall. I bought the tub/cabinet kit at Lowes for about $240, it included everything, but the shut off valves.

It's PVC ... the room is drywalled ...
