My friend bought these glasses on the streets of LA (probably fell off of a truck :D ) and wanted to know if they are real. As far as I know they look real, however I'm no expert. Thanks for your help...

Doesn't look like it to me. Got a picture of the arms of the glasses?

Actually, I own a pair of genuine Minute's and it looks the same way too... the L is there, however it is underscoring the E... if you have a pair of oakley's look at your's and you may see the same thing.

Yeah oakley discountinues alot of models, for example you won't find the Juliet's or Penny's with Ruby lenses on the site, however I know they exist because those glasses were used in X-Men and X-2.

The frames in the photo are supposed to be charcoal with ruby I think.

The Oakley name is nowhere near as large on the bridge of mine as it is in the picture. Mine are A-Wire 2.0's so that may have something to do with it.

can you link me to an alternate free picture hosting place? I've hated geocities too, but I haven't looked for an alternate.

Yeah I noticed that also, however these may be older model A wire's... I wonder if there's an archive of older Oakley models? Hrm lets check google...

Are the arms spring loaded or are they rigid when you open them fully?

I don't have them in my immediate possession... Please describe your pair and any "landmark features" that would prove authenticity....

As of the picture, do they look real that far? I can't seem to find older model A wire's to compare them too....

On my pair, the right arm has CE on it in very small lettering right near the front of the earsock. There are the Oakley O's on the corner posts (where the arm starts). That's really about it for landmark features. The indent/marks on the frame (where it looks like the nose piece is separate) in the picture are there on mine. With the bigger picture they do look pretty legit.

I have Oakley X Metal XX's. The easiest way to tell a fake by pictures is not necessarily by the glasses itself (easier to tell that in person). Can you get a pic of the bag it came with? All the Foakley's I have seen don't have a bag that looks even close to a genuine Oakley bag.

Interesting point I'm going to have to get my friend to get a photo of the bag (if he even got one). Thanks
