My g/f finally got het finaicial aid straightened out... She got $17,000 in financial aid. Get this though, after financial aid, they say she still owes $16,000! WTF? I only paid $20k for tuition. Since when did tuition reach $33,000 w/ no room and board?

Seriously, wtf? Who doesnt know how much theyre paying for something, especially something that is ALWAYS known to cost so much? I'd be down at the bursar if they overcharged me a dollar.

And $17,000 aid? Is that grants or loans? That cant be for real. I dont think they even gave me that much over my entire 4 years...wtf?

???? She knows that tuition is $26,000....but school is saying she owes them $26,000 per semester (52 k a year), when it is supposed to be $26,000 a year. She called the school and they said it was right. How can that be right? Since when did NU cost double the amount of MIT or Harvard? I called too and they did the same thing on my bill, that for next semster, I owe $23,000. WTF is wrong with this school's financial aid dept?

I hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure that the school's financial aid and bursars office probably know the price it costs to attend better than you do.

Whats more likely, that the people whose sole job it is is to deal with payments don't know how much it costs, or someone lied to you guys and told you the wrong price?

FYI, 17,000 is grants and awards. If you count loans, it's 21,000. She is one smart cookie, so don't go calling her dumb when you don't even know her or the situation.

I'm just stating the obvious. College is expensive. I seriously doubt that the aid office doesnt know how much THEIR OWN COLLEGE costs!

If I had a dollar for every time the staff at my college gave me bad advice, I'd be a very, very rich man.
 
geesh, i just came back from financial office. Verdict: My finciail aid office has very stupid people. Apparently, the guy that told me the info over the phone added (instead of subrtracting) the financial aid amount. Where do they find these people today? Ok, carry on.
 
If you go to northeastern, do you know a guy by the name of "Steven M. Kane"? He enrolls people in the internships and stuff, and finds temporary jobs.
