amen brother. was on my way to post this here after just finishing reading.

also emailed the links for the banner and radio ads to the local station here in pensacola, fl. we have a large saints fan base here, so hopefully wear3 will cover this and get more fans involved that may not visit the saintsreport.

basically, the owner benson hasnt put any effort into marketing the saints games in br, so fans have taken out radio ads to encourage everyone able to attend the games to show that NO and La are still a viable market to help stop the move from NO to san antonio.

It really is not all that simple. The question is not the good people of New Orleans' ability to support a team. It is a question of whether there are enough corporate sponsors left in New Orleans to buy the luxury boxes - the big ticket stuff that keeps a team going.

Many of these businesses have relocated to less moist areas. and many of those are expected to stay.

oh i agree its not that cut and dry as far as the move goes. benson and LA have been in talks about the future of the saints in NO for a few years now. hes just using katrina as springboard to make the move, which is underhanded, IMO.

but i was answering the question about the ads....

edit:...as an effort to get people out to show thier support and bring attention to what benson is doing.

The state of Louisian have been paying millions for Benson <extortion money if you ask me> for several years and now he is planning to head to SA. I have nothing against the team/fans but SA can have it.

not a fan of football? good luck getting any other team.

besides, having an nfl franchise would go a long way with superdome renovations, which would bring in more conventions, etc. not to mention all the cash hosting numerous super bowls brings in.

I'm a huge fan. I'm tired of all the talk and hearing how Benson is an evil man for wanting to leave the State.

We can't afford to make the payments to the team that our previous governor promised. I'd like to see a true revenue breakdown to show the impact of having the NFL team in NO.

I'd like to see them stay. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen.

i agree. there are 2 sides to the coin. benson wants to make money, and the city/state/region needs the saints to make money. i just dont see it happening in SA, or LosA. if he moves the team, i really dont see an expansion team coming, as the nfl is spreading itself too thin already. its damned if you do, damned if you dont for benson and the fans, really.

truly is a tough call on his part.
