So I just finished writing/editing/wrapping up my humanities capstone project. Right now I just want to turn this shit in and forget about it but the following abstract will be put directly on my official transcript. Could you guys please review these two sentences carefully and let me know if there are any glaring errors.

The Humanities and Arts Requirement was completed with courses in philosophy and religion, writing and Spanish, culminating in a Portfolio of five critical essays on the subject of Philosophy and Film. The capstone paper in this project is a meditation on ethical duties owed to android-kind.

The Humanities and Arts Requirement was satisfied via courses in Philosophy and Religion as well as Writing and Spanish. These courses culminated in a Portfolio of five critical essays on the subject of Philosophy and Film. The capstone paper in this project is a meditation on ethical duties owed to android-kind.

Thanks that sounds a lot better :) I took the first half of that from the fill-in-the-blank on the dept. website.

Random capitalization?

Fixed. Things that aren't proper nouns and don't start a sentence should not be capitalized. A subject is not a proper noun unless it's the name of a language. I thought the OP was supposed to be finishing a degree. It's a bit disappointing to see that you can graduate without knowing basic rules of grammar, especially with a humanities degree. I would laugh at an engineering student for this. You do realize that MS Word has a built-in grammar checker, right?

Sounds like the school is the one to blame for improper capitalization:

Oh, but you have me on ignore. Well, since you are unable to ingnore posts with the power of your own mind, maybe someone else can inform you of your misplaced condescension.

Improper grammar is improper grammar. If he wants it to be correct, he'll fix the school's mess.

Your posts generally aren't worth the 10 microseconds required to download their content, let alone the 10 milliseconds to scroll past them, let alone the 3 seconds to read them. That is why you're on my ignore list.

So, you put me on your ignore list, then take me off to read my replies? And then what, back on the ignore list? That is spectacular. I had a feeling you had no self control, and you've just confirmed it for me.

No, there's a convenient button that says, "View Post" over every post authored by someone on my ignore list. If I'm feeling particularly bored, masochistic, or need a good laugh, I sometimes click it.

C'mon can we not get into a pissing match here? Thanks everyone and CycloWizard this is not for a humanities degree. It's simply a capstone for the 6-class humanities portion of my degree. I originally posted this because the school's (Actually my professor wrote this) original looked a bit odd:

The Humanities and Arts Requirement was completed with courses in philosophy and religion [and any other relevant course work], culminating in a Portfolio of five critical essays on the subject of Philosophy and Film. For example ... [insert a couple of sentences about one or more specific themes/arguments in your project, up to the 80 word limit for the entire abstract.].

Coursework in Philosophy and Religion and Writing and Spanish satisfied the humanities and arts requirement and culminated in a portfolio of five critical essays on the subject of philosphy and film. This capstone paper for the project is a meditation on ethical duties owed to android-kind.
