Talk about Murphy's Law. I just ordered my EPoX motherboard on July 4 with a 1.33GHz T-Bird 266 FSB and Crucial Ram (2 ea of 256MB, 2100) and lately it seems the negative reviews are increasing here about that motherboard. (I researched this board and found the usual problems about printing and hardware incompatibility issues with some peripherals, but nothing major. BTW AnandTech providing these forums (and of course the members) has given me a lot of great information. There are a LOT of very knowledgeable people here!!!!)
I am concerned about a few problems. I am not sure of the order to load the drivers that will come with the board. I have read many posts about not installing the AGP support (Via chipset). At what point do you install these drivers with the operating system (in my case it will be Win2K)? I downloaded Epox's instruction manual and it does not go into exactly when to install the drivers. Don't you need all of these drivers before you install any operating system? Epox's manual says to:
1. Install AMD miniport driver
2. Install VIA Bus Master
3. Install PCI IDE Driver
4. Install Audio Driver
5. Install USB driver
6. Install HPT370A driver
7. Install RAID (if so equipped I guess).
Does everyone do this??
I also read another post about needing to increase the RAM voltage if you are using both DIMM slots on the board (I will be using 2 each 256MB sticks), but didn't go into the exact setting needed.
Some of the motherboard settings I have questions about are:
Jumper Settings:
JP1: CPU Ratio Selection (leave in Auto?)
JP2: CPU Vcore Adjust (leave in default?)
JP3: DDR Adjust (0.1 is default) see above remarks
Bios Settings:
CPU Cache (Enable or Disable)
PNP OS Installed (Why is the default NO)
Resource Controlled By Bios (Automatically configure all of the boot and plug and play devices): The default is Auto (vs Manual). Why is this since they have the "PNP OS Installed" defaulted to NO, what is the difference in these settings?
I realize that you can experiment with these settings for OC'ing, but I just want to get a stable system first.
I also know of the questionable "Phoenix Net" bios upgrade which has some possibility of including "Spy-Ware" into the bios.
Maybe its just me but their seems to be a lot of questions with this motherboard lately.

Hopefully I won't be posting these type of problems when mine comes in!!! Does anyone else have these type of specific questions or is it just me??
Thanks in advance for all of your support!
Update: Found this from EPoX site about which drivers to install!
