We're having a small get together at our place tomorrow, I'm thinking stuffed mushrooms would be a good snak but I haven't made them before. Send me your best recipes!! 🙂

I'm a decent cook in the kitchen so I should be okay with preparing and cooking it just nothing with incredibly hard to find ingredients.

I'm thinking of having shrimp cocktail and hot wings as well, just thought it would be nice to have something I've made ... help!

TIA! 🙂

You just need a good filling in a cleaned mushroom. You need to retain the meaty flavor and texture of the mushroom so use savory fillings.

Cheap ricotto or fetta with rosemary and thyme is pretty good, add a little basic red pepper flakes. Basic, but a winner.

Stuff with ground beef mixed with garlic, egg beaten to filler, garlic powder & bread crumbs, chopped onions, and chopped parseley another good one that is basic.

Baste the mushrroms while baking or grilling every 15-30 minutes with an oil & vinegar, or wine base.

Here is the quick way to make stuffed mushrooms. Buy some meduim or hot sausages. Remove the stems from the mushrooms and stuff them with the sausage. Now get some cheese like parmesan to top them off with. Throw in the the oven at 350 for about 20 minutes.

Also check the frozen section at your local member warehouse (CostCo, BJ's, Sam's, etc) as they often have reasonably priced hors d'oeuvres.

thanks now im starving

You could also throw in some marinated mushrooms. I'm not sure if you have enough time, so you could buy some.
Along the lines of stuffed mushrooms is also stuffed peppers or certain tomatoes.

I usually stuff mine with Italian breadcrumbs mixed with an egg or two and some olive oil. Super simple. But that snausage recipe sounds oh so yummy!

Peace

Stuffed mushrooms aren't snacks...

Oatmeal cream pies are snacks...
Twix bars are snacks...
Donuts are snacks...
Trail mix is a snack...

"mushroom" and "snack" don't belong in the same sentence. I am deeply offended :|.

I'll look for the recipe later... it's somewhere in my kitchen...

But, basically bread crumbs and crab meat... unbelievably good.

not mushrooms, but pretty these are pretty good, and very rich:

bacon wrapped pecan stuffed dates

buy some pitted dates, toothpicks, bacon and pecan halves

put a pecan half in a date, wrap a bit of bacon around the date and secure with a toothpick. cook at 350 until the bacon crisps up....about 30 minutes.
