Hi Everyone,
Please respond if you have any knowledge to add. Thanks!

The mother of a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with Extranodal Marginal Zone B Cell Lymphoma of Mucosa-Associated Lymphoid Tissue (Malt-Lymphoma). It was found in the top part of one lung. She was operated on and the top part of that lung was removed. From what I've read, this form of cancer has a high cure rate and is pretty rare compared to other cancers. As such, there isn't much information to be found about it. If anyone has indepth knowledge of this specific cancer please share it here.
Thank you.

not sure about that, but i know from reading that hodgkin's disease 5-yr survival rates are higher than non-hodgkins lymphoma.. (80 - 90%+ vs 50 - 60%). been a few years since i bothered with that sort of stuff.

mine specifically was diagnosed as malignant lymphoma, monocytoid b cell type, lymph node, intraparotid.

what kind of treatment are they recommending? when i went thru that to treat my non-hodgkins lymphoma (on my neck), i did 3 sessions of CHOPS chemotherapy and 1 month of radiation therapy to be safe.

anyways, send my prayers to your friends mother. :)

Thanks for the links, information, and prayers!
I don't know all the details about her treatment. I know she had surgery to remove the top part of one lung. I don't know if they are doing any chemo. It's the mother of a co-worker/friend of mine. I don't like to get her worried and worked up at work so I don't ask about it; only listen when she talks about her mom.
Thanks again for the help!
