I've got an Alpine CDA-7894 deck w/ Infinity 605cs's up front, and Infinity 52.5i's in the rear. Problem is, there's absolutely no low end to this setup. I'm looking for a decent 8 or 10" sub w/ amp so to give me an extra little oomph. I don't need the trunk rattling, ghetto blasting bullshiat. Just a good sub/amp combo to compliment the rest of the system. My ultilmate goal would be to spend no more then like $250 on this. Anyone have suggestions? BTW this is in a Civic Coupe..

You can get Fosgate stuff for that price range it should do the trick.
Amp Box and sub (I recommend a single 12)...
Best Buy had a Fosgate amp for $99 sub $79-$129 box $50 - $100. The boxes at BB suck but it fits your budget. You could probably get a custom box made and still stay close to your budget...

No. I like 12's best. You don't have to blare them.... all amps have gain controls....

I'm just thinking a 12" might not be as responsive as a good 10". But then again, i really don't know much about car audio! err any audio at all. ;)

I have 2 12's, so no I don't think a single 12 is too much. Amnesiac does though.
I under shoot you are screwed and unhappy, if you are over powered, turn the gain down...

I hear you. It's just that a 12" w/ box consumes a good portion of my trunk. Hmm.. What's the general rule of them when designing a box?

Actually, if you compare same brand/model 12' and a 10', the 12' will always have better bass response. If you truly want audiophile sound get and Infinity Pefects, they're amazing subs, although very expensive. Alpine Type R's are also good. Stay away away from Fosgate or Best Buy in general ;)

Bjork is defintely unique and offers a lot of creative interpretation in her music. For the large part she really has her own niche in the music industry. But yes, she is fantastic. :)

You might want to look into a JL Audio 6W0 or 8IB4. There certainly not going to be blasting out the infrasonic, but it should extend your low end response down farther then it is now.
Dont worry about "thump", "tight" or "sloppy" sound from speaker size. Speaker size has no effect on how tight your bass is.
I think the 6W0's are around 100 bucks for the raw drivers. JL may also make a Stealth box for you using a 8" driver.
Like I said, you wont shake your teeth out but it should help your low end.

Bigger question....How much space are you willing to sacrafice?
