A long time ago my dad purchased a Technics setup for home. Came with the EQ, amp, tape desk and CD player and 2 speakers. The setup has worked flawless for him for a long long time. Three weeks he started having problems with the amp.
After it was on for a while the unit would just shut off and power back on. It did this several times over the course of a week. Now the unit will power on but you don't hear any sound. If you try to adjust the volume you hear a crackling noise coming out of the speakers.
Ideas? Is it dead? Can it be repaired? I would like to find a replacement unit for him. I realize this unit is most likely discontinued. Where might I find one. I don't see anything on eBay.
