Anyone have a similar setup?

For those of you with pc3200 ram what are your voltage settings? did you change it in bios? why?

I AM NOT OVERCLOCKING my video card or cpu but yet I can't run my system in turbo mode under JUMPER FREE CONFIG settings in bios. I have to set it to "auto" or my system won't boot into windows.

I was just curious, if I should raise my vcore to 1.6 so that it could improve my performance? Or leave it at default settings (currently doing now)?

If I remember correctly, I'm running my Corsair XMS 3200C2 at 2.7 volts, non-Turbo mode, with an Antec TruePower430 riding on an APC BackUPS Pro 1000VA line-interactive UPS. My worst gripe at this point is that the stupid USB controller keeps forgetting that my memory-card reader is hooked up, about once every 18 hours or so.

Plus the box art just makes me cringe 😕

I've never heard of your brand of power supply, which automatically makes me wonder if it's any good, and particularly with a pretty powerful video card in your system. If you find yourself with an extra $50-$75 then a new high-quality-brand power supply might be worth the investment 🙂

I have tried with PC3500, and that does not work either, even when I re-set spped to stock. I didn;t worry about it, just set it to 218 HTT and go !

Maybe its my mind playing tricks on me because this is my first partial home built system (had to take it to a puter shop for help once) and due to budget problems I had to keep my old 340 watt psu for the upgrade🙁

I swear that while playing Vietcong (game) I saw some white broken lines in a few places. Not common but I am sure I seen it twice.

I have a viewsonic p95f+ monitor set to 1024 x 768 at 85hz refresh. I play my games at 1024 x 768 with 85 hz refresh rate as well. I assume that my monitor refresh rate and resolution must match my gaming refresh and resolution? Using the latest Omega drivers btw. MY 9800pro is set to optimal performance.

I am just concerned about my PSU handling this new setup thats all. How could one tell an inadequte psu when using a 9800pro and playing games?

Currently, I am still trying to tweak my system for games and so forth.

This board is just plain unreliable. I have many good things to say about ASUS boards, but this is not one of them. I had horrible problems getting non-overclocked PC3200 512MB sticks to work. What is worse is the problem with some capacitor that restarts the hard drive during boot up. That made me very nervous! I RMA'ed that board pretty quickly.

Nah, this board is not unreliable. But you do have to tweak the memory settings to get any operating system, especially Win XP to run. I had a myriad of problems getting Win XP to install on my rig, until I changed the memory settings in the BIOS from "by speed' to a manual setting. Just tweak your memory settings in the BIOS until you are able to get things running. Remember, you are on the bleeding edge with this CPU.

I read that people who had hdd restarts should hook the hdd to the secondary ide port instead. It worked for many.

No problems with my K8V Deluxe except that IE for some reason takes about a minute to load while other programs load up right away.

Strange.
