2. ARBY?S
The 100 Arby?s had 210 critical violations. The roast beef specialists had recurring violations for improper hand-washing and employees handling ready-to-eat foods with their bare hands.
Smith-Dewaal: And clearly, if the person isn?t washing their hands or using other sanitation practices, they can really make people very sick.

I think I'll take your word for it RossMAN :)

I watched that show the other day, all of the top chains had many critical violations. There were also acts considered "critical violations" that frankly were a bit overrated, like someone filling your cup with ice while having bare hands (not actually touching the ice, but touching your cup with bare hands while filling it.)

Life is a naturally dirty place, you can't expect your burger to be assembled in a clean room. Just cook it, keep the cockroaches and rat turds out and it's all good. :D

I love Arby's Beef & Cheddar. Unfortunately, all the Arby's in the area closed down some years ago due to bad management (this from the brother of the owner). Now the nearest Arby's is over 300 miles away in Anchorage, and when family members go there they tend to bring back several Beef & Cheddars. This is apparently not exclusive to our family, as an employee asked my sister when she picked up a bag of sixteen for the rest of us, "I bet these are going to Fairbanks, aren't they?"

I had the Philly Supreme at Arbys last week. Very sub-par. Somewhat dry, a rather small portion of onions and peppers that were diced instead sliced (as they should have been), bread was lacking.

edit: Ross, if you really want a good Philly, go to Philadelphia's Steaks & Hoagies on Milwaukie Ave. in Westmoreland a few blocks north of Bybee.

I've been there, it was good.

Wish we had more options in PDX.

You know I don't know why people bash certain restaurants. At least every restaurant I have been too, has had at least some time been without soap and/or paper towels in the restrooms.

Even if they have them I have witnessed and complained about a ton of people working leaving the restroom without washing their hands. Usually you get told they are a busboy or cleanup....I strongly doubt it.

If you eat out chances are you aren't getting 100% rule following staff. 9 times out of 10 you won't suffer for this. It's that 1 out of 10 time that the restaurant gets screwed.

Well, there's New York New York Pizza on Barbur just past Burlingame Freddie's. Their sandwiches are all New York-style so their Philly isn't pure. But their meatball and sausage sandwiches are the bomb... freakin heart attack on a plate.

yet another edit: almost forgot about the Italian place (forgot the name) at 4th and Washington downtown. Good stuff.

I like Arbys now but I'm not quite ready to call myself an AFB. It's a multi-step process!
