Calling all alcaholics...Whiskey Thread

#1 Evan Williams Vintage Single Barrel - 23$
#2 Crown Royal Special Reserve - 45$
#3 Woodridge - 30$


Those 3 are my favorites, I typically drink these cut with maybe 2 part coke to 4 parts whiskey. 1/4 for the CR Special Reserve.

I am interested in trying out some new brands.

OT: I tried the new Black Medallion tequila from Jose Cuervo, the one you are supposed to drink with coke, suprisingly.....not bad.
 
I don't mind having the occasional whiskey thread (these pop up every 3-4 months usually). But, at least wait at least 10 days from the last thread.

Maker's Mark for me. It is the right combination of (a) price and (b) lack of nasty funk.

I think I am going to stop and getting some Makers Mark. I have heard a few mention this now, here and at work.

As the question, I prefer a good scotch over a bourbon or irish whisky, but will drink both the latter if my arm is twisted. 😀

My favorite good value scotch(read:blended) is Teachers Highland Cream at about $20 a fifth.

I'm still in my single malt discovery stage and do not have a favorite as of yet.
 
The Macallen 12 year - $50
Oban 14 year - $60
The Macallen 18 year - $140

All with only three ice cubes.
 
I'd be hard pressed to pick a favorite, but I am with tweakmm. If you are adding a mixer to your whiskey, you can't really speak to the topic at hand.

I lean towards the smooth whiskies, and 18 year old Macallan is mighty smooth. The Balvenie <fill in the blank>woods are also awesome.

edit: since the OP calls for favorites and not "best", go ahead and dilute your swill with mixers and enjoy... I'll be over here savoring the warmth in my belly.
